The term PAR or photosynthetic active radiation is defined by the range of wavelengths that scientists have determined are important for plants including some wavelengths outside of the visible human view.
What are Watts?
Watts is a measurement of the amount of energy input a light requires.
Some LED Grow Light Suppliers will refer to watts as a comparison against HID or MH lamps – this is not strictly correct. A more accurate comparison would be to look at the input watts of an LED Grow Light ( The actual power drawn from the wall) against the PAR (most useful measurement of light output relating to plant requirements).
